LEARNING AND REMEMBERING WITH DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY BY JOHN J. MCGEOUGH

LEARNING AND REMEMBERING WITH DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

JOHN J. MCGEOUGH

This booklet will introduce you to a technique used successfully by experienced educator John McGeough to motivate and engage students in deep learning. John has over 35 years experience teaching students at all levels.  He is the type of person known as an early adopter.  As soon as computers were readily available, he began to weave them into his instruction.  While always having used photography in teaching, the rise of digital photography inspired him to experiment with the new instructional techniques that were now possible.

Students attending schools or in home school today are wired. They have grown up in a world that has never been without technology. Why ask them to learn without it? Photography and the associated technology intrigues all types of students at all ages and grades.

The material presented to you has been used successfully by John McGeough at all levels of education. John is a professional science teacher, music teacher, musician, portrait and stock photographer who realized a number of years ago that his art would catch the attention of all his students. The information provided is intended to get your class or your home schooled child started on an exciting journey. The booklet is not at all intended to be complete because the possibilities are endless. After you have absorbed the concepts you will be able to design your own learning projects whether you are a teacher or a home school parent.  You will be able to create your own digitally oriented curriculum to make these techniques your own.

The techniques given here are perfect for the home school parent. The ideas you can come up with for field experiences, computer projects, PowerPoint presentations, collections, photographic essays, even creative writing and so many other projects are endless.

Perhaps one of the most important projects outlined is the section devoted to family. Our heritage is so important but so often lost. Projects which document a family heritage provide so many opportunities to write, organize, sequence, study social events and history along with so many other topics.

Join John as he explains how to utilize the techniques of digital photography to develop projects found in the booklet but also to kick start hundreds of ideas that you will certainly develop for your own classes or your home schooled children

The book can be found in digital form for the Kindle platform at Amazon.com priced at $2.99.
